A continuación se presentan algunos pasos y precauciones de seguridad para evitar el phishing.

1. Los suplantadores de identidad suelen utilizar protectores Phish vínculo que oculta los enlaces de descarga real del archivo. Así que ser muy prudentes al hacer clic en los enlaces. El vínculo real descarga RapidShare tiene este aspecto: http:/ / Rapidshare.com/files/123456789/xxxxx.rar "
2. Normally if you have login on to your Rapidshare account it saves your login details for some days using cookies. So if you encounter a login page while clicking on a download link, open a new tab and go to rapidshare.com, turn to the login page if it asks for user id and password then the link is legit or else it was a fake login page to phish you.
3. Enable direct download in your Rapidshare premium account option’s page, each time you click on a link the download box should pop up instantly every time but if you get redirected to Rapidshare Login Page, you know it’s fake.
4. Never believe e-mails that claim to be from rapidshare. RapidShare does NOT send newsletters, not even to premium-users. If they ever send they will send with your login details.
5. If you handed out your RapidShare details by mistake, instantly change your account password and logout.
